PRAYER FOR CRITICAL EVENT

Psalm 33 (NKJV)

1 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous!

For praise from the upright is beautiful.

2 Praise the Lord with the harp;

Make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings.

3 Sing to Him a new song;

Play skillfully with a shout of joy.

4 For the word of the Lord is right,

And all His work is done in truth.

5 He loves righteousness and justice;

The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

8 Let all the earth fear the Lord;

Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

9 For He spoke, and it was done;

He commanded, and it stood fast.

10 The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;

He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect.

11 The counsel of the Lord stands forever,

The plans of His heart to all generations.

12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,

The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.

Watching Over the Laws of the Land

Isaiah 21: 6-8

6 …“Put a watchman on the city wall.  Let him shout out what he sees.

7 He should look for chariots drawn by pairs of horses,

and for riders on donkeys and camels.

    Let the watchman be fully alert.”

8 Then the watchman called out,

“Day after day I have stood on the watchtower, my Lord.

Night after night I have remained at my post.”

The Lord has placed in our hearts to keep watch over the passing of laws in our land in this season. We all know that the main task of the Parliament is to present, debate and pass laws for our nation. Laws are critical and once enacted, cannot be changed until another decree is issued. Therefore, we need to adopt a watchman’s posture to be alert.

As we pray, we want to

  1. Prevent the enemy from imposing his unrighteous decrees on our land.
  2. Pray that all laws (no matter how insignificant we may think they are) will be carefully thought through and passed until fulfilment. Pray for wisdom and discernment in consideration of the laws proposed or amended that they be righteous, equitable and just in the sight of God.
  3. Pray that after a law is passed, we will continue to keep watch so that it goes further until we see it as a fulfilment of God’s will for our nation. Eg. MA 63

Below is a prayer we have written, do use it as you pray for each of these laws

  • We stand together before You, Almighty God, to resist the evil schemes of the evil one who is trying to impose his ‘laws’  to steal, kill and destroy the destiny of our nation of Malaysia.

(Now we declare the Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Your Name.

We pray now for Your kingdom to come to Malaysia and for Your will to be done in Malaysia.

Give us this day the “daily bread” to hear Your voice, to know Your will and to understand it so that we can pray with discernment.

Forgive us, Lord, our sins (allow Holy Spirit to cleanse us of any specific corrupt thoughts that prevent us from hearing Him clearly) as we forgive the sins of those who sin against us.

Lead us, Lord, not into temptation to ignore what is happening, and deliver us, O Lord, in Malaysia from the schemes of the evil one.

For Yours alone is the kingdom, the power and the glory, amen.

Now O Lord, we come before Your throne with boldness to beseech You for mercy and grace to help us in this time of need.

  • Lord, raise up men and women to be the voice to bring forth righteous decrees in the Parliament.
  • Lord, we ask that laws that ensure justice and righteousness in this land will be approved, and those that deviate from that desire of Yours will be nullified.
  • Above all, we beseech You, O Mighty God, that Divine Decrees be issued from heaven to overrule all evil decrees that the evil one is trying to impose on us in Malaysia.
  • Father, we now commit to You the tabling of the following Laws in Parliament.

In Jesus’ Name, amen.

We suggest you select only 1 law to pray when you pray each time.

The Following Laws are being presented (you can do research on these laws)

  • Anti-Hopping Law to be tabled in Parliament without any further delay.
  • Sexual Harassment Law No. 8

(Joint Action Group for Gender Equality (JAG), Engender Consultancy and Young Women Making Change said this legislation has been 30 years in the making and women’s groups have engaged extensively with the government including in the drafting of the bill. “While we recognise and appreciate the government’s efforts to honour its commitment of passing specific legislation on sexual harassment, unfortunately, there remain significant gaps in the bill, especially in terms of proper redress and prevention mechanisms to protect victims of sexual harassment,” it said.)

The first reading of the Bill was held on Dec 15 last year and will be tabled for a second reading in this first parliamentary meeting now.

  • Food Supplies and Food Security (Ruang Undang-undang Kawalan Padi dan Beras) No. 11

(The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries says we are only self-sufficient for chicken, eggs, pork and fish. Trade balance for food stuff is negative, meaning we import more than we export. Some of the measures that the ministry is doing are to improve food-agricultural sectors so that there is a food security plan in place. But please pray as this is so critical.)

  • IPCMC Police Commission for Accountability (Ruang Undang-undang Suruhanjaya Bebas Tatakelakuan Polis 2020) No. 13
  • Continue to pray for MA63 – East Malaysia be given 1/3 of seats in Dewan Negara.
