PRAYER FOR WEEK 17 – RESTORATION OF DIVINE ORDER IN FAMILIES (PART 3: NEXT GENERATION)

LORD, we call forth each son and daughter, grandson and granddaughter, and all generations yet to be born – to love You with all their heart, with all their soul, with all their mind and with all their strength (Deut 6:5), and to love their neighbor as they love themselves (Matthew 22:37-39).

LORD, You chose each of them in Christ before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in Your sight (Eph 1:4). Bless them to be men and women after Your very own heart (1 Sam 13:14), walking into the fulness of their destiny, serving Your purpose in their own generation (Acts 13:22).

Deliver the Next Generation from any evil plan of the Devil: to rob them of abundant life, to steal away their uniqueness and giftedness, to compromise the path You have called each to walk in, and to destroy the person You created each to be. You LORD, will contend with him who contend with our Next Generation, and deliver and set them to walk in freedom and victory. We declare Zechariah 2:5 that You be a wall of fire around our Next Generation and let Your glory fill them to be a good testimony to Your Name.

LORD, we declare Your shield over the hearts and minds of our Next Generation; protecting them from every arrow of ungodly influence from their surrounding and media. Instead, may they be influenced and impacted by Your Truth to influence their peers with godly principles and values, growing daily in confidence and Holy Spirit boldness to live a radical counter-culture lifestyle, being the light that pierce through the world’s darkness, drawing many to You.

LORD, fill the Next Generation with the knowledge of Your will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that they may live a life worthy of You, Lord and please You in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of You, being strengthened with all power according to Your glorious might so that they may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to You, Father, who has qualified the Next Generation to share in the inheritance of Your holy people in the kingdom of light. For You have rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son You love,in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:9-14).

LORD, bless them with favor and success in the works of their hands so that they can be generous to be a blessing to others. “A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men” (Proverbs 18:16). May their giftings and endeavors find favor with others and be well received, well respected and well rewarded. Most of all, we pray the gifts and talents You placed in each of them be released to find their fullest expression in glorifying You.

We bless you Next Generation: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.”

LORD, You love and care about our Next Generation’s eternal future. They are secure in You. By Your Spirit they will fight a good fight, by Your Spirit they will finish their race, and by Your Spirit they will keep their faith, because You who began a good work in them will surely bring it into perfect completion.

To You alone be all praise and glory! In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
