Perak became well-known following the discovery of tin in Larut in 1848 by Cik Long Jaafar. With the discovery, Perak rapidly developed and many mines were opened. Besides tin, rubber too plays an important role in Perak and has been planted during the reign of 34 Sultans. Due to these developments, a multi-racial community has been formed in Perak, comprising especially the Chinese who had flocked to the mines to work.

PRAYERS FOR PERAK

  1. POLITICAL STABILITY IN PERAK

Daniel 2:21-22 (NKJV)
21
And He changes the times and the seasons;
He removes kings and raises up kings;
He gives wisdom to the wise
And knowledge to those who have understanding.
22 He reveals deep and secret things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
And light dwells with Him.

History seems to repeat itself even till today through the political instability that stems from power struggle in Perak.  From the assassination of JWW Birch, the first Perak’s British Resident, due to discontentment, to the power wrestle from Harapan back to BN.

Pray for political stability and a good Perak Government to run the state wisely, so that our economy and education sectors will grow and improve for future generations.

  • Cleansing of the land of Perak from all defilement through idolatry, immorality/fornication, bloodshed and broken covenants.
  • GE15 will birth forth many good leaders who are wise and God-fearing.
  • Perakians will not shy away from voting and be responsible citizens even after much disappointment.
  • Strong leaders who will not succumb to corruption and slothfulness when doing their duties.
  • Younger generation will be raised up to take over the older generation of politicians.

  1. ORANG ASLI TO RISE UP

Joshua 8:18 (NKJV)

18 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Stretch out the spear that is in your hand toward Ai, for I will give it into your hand.”

They are the bumiputras and yet so much has been taken away from them.

  • Pray that they will be a Joshua generation that will obey God’s command and take back what belongs to them.
  • Pray that they will know their identity in the Lord and not be afraid to rise up to be the people who will follow God’s leading and guidance.
  • Pray that they will be resilient in the Lord till they experience breakthroughs against the stronghold of animism, poverty and apathy.
  • Pray that they, the old and young, will unite their hearts and continue to trust God to bring success and prosperity to their people.

  1. CHURCHES IN PERAK TO ARISE & UNITE

Malachi 4:2-3 (NKJV)

2 “But to you who fear My name
The Sun of Righteousness shall arise
With healing in His wings;
And you shall go out
And grow fat like stall-fed calves.
3 You shall trample the wicked,
For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet
On the day that I do this,
Says the Lord of hosts.

  • Pray for healing and restoration for all pastors and leaders that have experienced setbacks and disappointments in the past, so that they will arise again and do that which will please the heart of God.
  • Pray for pastors and leaders to have more opportunity to work as one and a greater desire to unite in heart.
  • Pray for the Church to fear the Name of Jesus and seek His healing in order to go out strong and healthy to fulfil the mandate from God.
  • Pray for the rivers of living water to flow from the heart of the Church of Christ onto the people of Perak so that God’s love and power will be manifested.
  • Pray for the success of succession plans from the present to a younger generation of leaders in churches.

Psalm 84:8-12 (ESV)

O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer;
give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah
Behold our shield, O God;
look on the face of your anointed!

10 For a day in your courts is better
than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
the Lord bestows favor and honor.
No good thing does he withhold
from those who walk uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts,
blessed is the one who trusts in you!

PRAISE THE LORD FOR HIS FAITHFULNESS!

THANK YOU FOR PRAYING!
