SORCERY

Sorcery in the Bible.

1 Chronicles 10:13

¹³ Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance,

1 Samuel 15:23

²³ For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has rejected you as king.”

2 Chronicles 33:6

⁶ He sacrificed his children in the fire in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced divination and witchcraft, sought omens, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, arousing His anger.

2 Thessalonians 2:9

⁹ The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie,

Acts 8:9

⁹ Now for some time a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and amazed all the people of Samaria. He boasted that he was someone great,

²⁷ Daniel replied, “No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about,

Isaiah 8:19

¹⁹ When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?

Isaiah 19:3

³ The Egyptians will lose heart, and I will bring their plans to nothing; they will consult the idols and the spirits of the dead, the mediums and the spiritists.

Leviticus 19:31

³¹ “’Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.

⁶ “’I will set My face against anyone who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute themselves by following them, and I will cut them off from their people.

²⁷ “’A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.’”

Micah 5:12

¹² I will destroy your witchcraft and you will no longer cast spells.

Galatians 5:19-21

¹⁹ The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; ²⁰ idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions ²¹ and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Ezekiel 13:6-9

⁶ Their visions are false and their divinations a lie. Even though the LORD has not sent them, they say, “The LORD declares,” and expect Him to fulfill their words. ⁷ Have you not seen false visions and uttered lying divinations when you say, “The LORD declares,” though I have not spoken? ⁸ “’Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because of your false words and lying visions, I am against you, declares the Sovereign LORD. ⁹ My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of My people or be listed in the records of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.

REPENTANCE FROM SORCERY

Heavenly Father, I acknowledge all the sins of idolatry, ancestral worship, divination and witchcraft that we and our forefathers committed before You, and I ask for Your forgiveness.

Father, we have sinned against You when we practiced sorcery. We repent for the sins of seeking guidance through familiar spirits, spirits of the dead, necromancy, horoscopes, witch doctors, fortune tellers and psychics.

Father, we repent from the sins of seeking demonic mediums and satanic priests and bomohs.

We also repent from all incantations and enchantments we have made against the success and progress of others. Father, please be merciful and forgive us.

We repent of the sins of murders and bloodshed that we and our ancestors have in any way committed through the practice of sorcery. Father, please forgive us.

Father, please forgive us for the sins of raising up satanic priesthood in our family lineage. 

Dear Father, we repent for dedicating our lives and generations to become oracles of Satan by opening doors to sorcery, spirits of divination and witchcraft in our family lineage.

Father, we repent of rebellion, dishonouring You and rejection of Your holy ordinances.

Father, forgive the nation for her sorcery, witchcraft and divination. We repent of freemasonry and all forms of idolatrous worship of Satan and his demons. Father, forgive us.

RENOUNCE AND BREAK THE POWER OF SORCERY.

Ephesians 6:10-12 (personalized)

¹⁰ Finally, help us be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power to ¹¹put on the full armor of God, so that we can take our stand against the devil’s schemes. ¹² For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

• Lord, please help us to pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, help us to be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people (Eph 6:18).

2 Cor 10:4-6 

⁴ The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. ⁵ We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. ⁶ And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.

• We come against the spirits of sorcery and witchcraft in the Name of Jesus. 

Ephesians 1:19-22

¹⁹ and His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength ²⁰ He exerted when He raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, ²¹ far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. ²² And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the church,

• We pray for the Blood of Jesus to deliver us from the power of darkness, sorcery, witchcraft and divination.

Col 1:13

¹³ For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves,

• We pray to overcome the devil and all his demonic spirits invoked through sorcery by the Blood of the Lamb.

Rev 12:11

11 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

• We pray that the Blood of Jesus continues to cleanse us from all sins.

I John 1:7

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

• We repent and renounce any ancestral involvement in witchcraft, divination and occultism.
• By the Blood of Jesus, deliver us from all darkness in Jesus’ Name.
• We renounce and reject all the practices of divination, witchcraft, sorcery and idolatry in the mighty Name of Jesus.
• In the Name of Jesus and through His precious blood, we break the power of sorcery, divination and witchcraft from our lives, our families and our nation. All these powers are under the feet of Jesus Christ!
• We command these forms of darkness to be broken, and the light of Jesus Christ to shine into our land.

Isaiah 60:1-2

¹ “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. ² See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and His glory appears over you.

• Lord, we pray that You will help us to be holy, be separated and delivered from sorcery.

2 Corinthians 6:17-18 (personalized)

¹⁷ Therefore, “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. ¹⁸ I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

• Lord, we consecrate ourselves to be holy to serve You.

Leviticus 20:7-8

⁷ “’Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the LORD your God. ⁸ Keep My decrees and follow them. I am the LORD, who makes you holy.”

• Lord, please help us to cleanse ourselves to be vessels of honour.

2 Timothy 2:21

²¹ Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honour, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. 

• We pray to be cleansed totally by the Blood of the Lamb.

1 Thessalonians 5:23

²³ Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 

Make us pure in our hearts.

“The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” — 2 Timothy 2:19
