PRAYER FOR NATION – November 2025

URGENT CALL TO PRAY FOR NEXT GENERATION

In the last few months, we have seen a disturbing trend of events in schools and campuses affecting the next generation in Malaysia. While we may have seen this happening in other parts of the world, we never dreamt it would come to the shores of Malaysia in such a horrendous way.

I believe the time has come for us to pray for the next generation in a targeted manner. We cannot just watch or talk about these events. We must be stirred into action, and we should start with prayer to seek God and enquire of Him so that we may gain understanding.

Why Prayer?

  • Prayer aligns us to God’s purpose – what is God doing among the next generation now? How can we align ourselves to this?

James 5:16-18

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

17 Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. 18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.

  • Prayer is when we invite the Presence of God into our homes, schools and education institutions. When the Presence of God comes, there is love, hope, wisdom, understanding and God does the great and “unsearchable” things far beyond what we can ask or imagine.

Jeremiah 33:2-3

This is what the Lord says, He who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is His name: 3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

  • When the Presence comes, the spiritual atmosphere over a place will change.

Matthew 16:18-19

“I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

He will build His church and the gates of hell can never prevail against it. Prayer is where the keys of the kingdom can be operative to prevail against the kingdom of darkness.

Let us come and set aside at least once a week to pray in groups of 2-3 to seek God’s mercy and help with regards to the issues facing the next generation. May the Lord begin to give us, including government bodies, schools, the youths themselves, church and NGOs, wisdom how to confront this problem. We will not stay helpless and hopeless. God is with us and He will contend against those that contend against our children.

PRAYER

Father, no matter what we are seeing or hearing now, help us not to doubt or waver, because of the troubles surrounding us.

You will do nothing without first revealing to Your people.  We are Your covenant people and Your love endures forever.

You have said that the kingdom of God also belongs to the children (Matthew 18:1-6; Matthew 19:14). Let none of them perish and do not let the evil one capture their bodies, hearts, minds and souls.

Therefore as we pray, draw us to Your word, help us to dwell in it, and help us to hear and receive strategies, so that we can see the truths of your ways that we can activate. We want to know how to bring all the children from different sectors of society into the kingdom. We want to pray for specific next generation groups so that they will not miss out on Your plans for their lives (name a child, youth or youth groups you want to focus on).

We pray for great restoration of family relationships, greater physical engagement between children and parents; between youths and others.

May church youth groups begin to experience the powerful Presence of God and the next generation experience a great revival among themselves. We pray for a hunger for the truths of God, the word of God and an ability to separate truths from the lies of the enemy.

We pray for the Presence of God to come to schools, campuses and even education institutions. We also pray that not only will we pray, but we will arise and take action when You instruct us.  May godly wisdom be released to decision makers and may the spirit of   despair or hopelessness be broken from all of us.  With God, nothing is impossible.

We declare that as we pray and exalt Your Name, ‘every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that You are Lord’.

IN JESUS’ NAME, AMEN.
