PRAYER FOR THE NATION – JANUARY 2025

Theme: Pass Through the Gates

2025 is going to be a year of great acceleration both in the physical and spiritual realms. As 2024 came to an end, we saw nations come into unprecedented changes, the effects of which we still have not known. I sense spiritually that many things have been set in motion and it will affect us all.

Are we, the church of God in Malaysia, ready for it?

This is why God has given us a word in Isaiah 62:10 ‘Pass through the gates.’

Even though many of us feel we have grown in our prayer life and we have seen some encouraging signs of God’s presence, we cannot stay at where we are. We must go to the next level and be ready and well prepared for whatever comes to us in 2025. There must be a major shift in our hearts and minds so that we can pass through 2025, and be aligned to the will and plans of God for our nation.  

What is God telling us to do?

Isaiah 62:10 (NIV)

Pass through, pass through the gates! Prepare the way for the people.

Build up, build up the highway! Remove the stones.

Raise a banner for the nations.

10-12 Walk out of the gates. Get going!

    Get the road ready for the people.

Build the highway. Get at it!

    Clear the debris, hoist high a flag, a signal to all peoples!

Yes! GOD has broadcast to all the world:

    “Tell daughter Zion, ‘Look! Your Savior comes,

Ready to do what He said He’d do, prepared to complete what He promised.’”

3 things I see God saying  

  1. To pass through the gates He has opened for us. This means we must now arise and act – not just pray. We cannot allow our own mindsets to limit God from working in our land. It is the season for all of us to “enlarge our tents, lengthen our cords and strengthen our stakes” (Isaiah 54:2), and not limit God from acting on our behalf. This means more prayer altars need to be built until there is a canopy of prayer over our nation. We must move beyond our current status quo with Holy Dissatisfaction!
  2. Build a Highway for the Lord to come. He is coming as Savior to all in Malaysia.
  3. Clear the debris – the stones that hinder us from building a Highway and Jesus from coming. We must ask ourselves – what are some of these stones?

What is on the MUFW Agenda to start the year?

  • 7 days of Personal Consecration from Jan 1st-7th 2025. 
  • You can decide how you will fast and pray, but we do feel we must surrender the first few days of the week to God. If you find you cannot do 7 days, then set aside at least 3 days to fast and pray. As we pray, let us ask God to help us pass through these 5 gates set below. Let us pray we will rise to a whole different level of Holy Boldness, Perseverance and Faith in God.
  • 52 Hours of Zoom Prayer together from 8pm Jan 5th – 12 midnight Jan 7th 
  • 52 hours represent the 52 weeks in a year. We offer it as our firstfruits to God for this year.
  • MUFW Core Team will start the 52 hours on Sunday Jan 5th at the 8-10pm altar slot. This will be followed by Pr Philip Lyn (Skyline SIB Sabah) on Monday Jan 6th and Pr Benedict Rajan (Calvary Community Church JB) on Tuesday Jan 7th.

Our Prayers for 2025:  

  1. Pass through the gates of status quo to HOLY DISSATISFACTION.
  2. Pass through gates of fear to have HOLY BOLDNESS. 
  3. Pass through our busy lifestyle to come into God’s DIVINE PURPOSE. 
  4. Pass through the gates of despair and discouragement to have a spirit of DIVINE PERSEVERANCE, never giving up (Luke 18: 1-8).
  5. Pass through the gates of unbelief and rise in our FAITH IN GOD. 
  • Lord, I ask for a Holy Dissatisfaction to arise in my spirit and in the church of God in Malaysia.
  • We want to be men of a different spirit like Caleb and Joshua where we see ourselves change. We are no longer satisfied with the stories of Joshua and Caleb, we want to experience what that means.
  • Lord, I want to live my life with Divine Purpose. I will not allow busyness to hinder me from coming into Your purpose for my life, my family, my work, my church and my nation.
  • I declare I want to build my prayer altar with determination and intentionality. I want to read the chapters of God’s Word and to hear Your voice clearly. I ask for the Spirit of grace to help me move to the next level of my personal altar.
  • We want to move into maturity becoming mature sons who can inherit the portion You have assigned to us. Help us not to allow offenses or differences in giftings & personalities to stop us from moving into the next level.
  • We pray that there is a maturity in the body of Christ in Malaysia that will enable us to grow up in Him and flow smoothly, each in our different giftings as each part does its work (Eph 4:13-16).  
  • We ask, O Lord, for Holy Boldness for myself and the body of Christ in Malaysia just like the church in the book of Acts.

– Grant us the ability to speak your Word and live out our faith with great boldness (Acts 4:29-30).

– For too long now we have allowed the spirit of intimidation to cripple us, but now give us the spirit of love, power and a sound mind to respond with much wisdom and holy boldness to any challenges we will face this year (2 Tim 1:7).

  • We ask, O Lord, for Faith in You to break that spirit of unbelief in us.
  • We recognize that the enemy has imposed a limitation on our mindsets, always telling us, ‘It cannot be done.’ Lord, we stop this and ask for a renewed mindset of faith in You, believing that You are a rewarder of those who diligently seek You (Heb 11:6).
  • Give us Holy Perseverance to maintain our altars with diligence, not becoming weary as we pray. Surely You will bring about justice for us, His chosen ones, who cry to Him day and night (Luke 18:7).
  • Lord, we also ask for 2025 to be a year of great collaboration in the body of Christ so that a highway for the Lord can be built in our nation. We see Your love for this nation. We pray that 2025 will be a year where all of us as the people of God from every language group and every denomination will move together along “the same road in the same direction, with all Your people staying together both inwardly and outwardly as there is only one Master, one God, and Father of all who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all of us!” (Eph 4:4-6 MSG)

Let 2025 be a year of enlarging our tents, lengthening our cords and strengthening our stakes as we move beyond our comfort zone! May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in Malaysia! In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
