PRAYER OF CONSECRATION FOR FAMILY

Week 3 (15-21 March)

LORD, I acknowledge that all that I have is from You. My family and everyone I love is a gift from You, the Father of lights above. “For Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created” (Revelations 4:11). LORD, my family and I are created for Your pleasure and now I willingly and joyfully consecrate and surrender all the family You have given me, back to You (name them one by one).

By Your grace I pray, let me fulfil fully the role that You called me as a ……. (name your role(s) in your family e.g. husband/wife/son/daughter, etc) so that my family will see You in me and I in You. May my obedience to You, and the love and the life of Christ, working in me and serving through me, result in the transformation of all those around me, especially my closest ones. For You are the Son of Man, who did not come to be served but to serve. May I, Your child, bring praise and thanksgiving to Your name.

Let my family be set apart for You, O Lord and I pray, let it start with me.

1. Let godly order be restored in my family

Let my family be a place where we will obey your Word, where the husband will love his own wife as himself, and the wife see that she respects her husband; where children will obey their parents in the Lord, for this is right (Ephesians 5:33, 6:1).

(Spend time praying for yourself to fulfil your role, before praying for other family members.)

Singles: O Lord, help me not take my eyes off You. Set my eyes on the things of Your heart, how I may please You and be a blessing to all around me (1 Corinthians 7:32). You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance!

2. Let forgiveness, healing and reconciliation flow freely

Help us be kind and affectionate toward one another. As God has graciously forgiven me, I ……..…. (put your name) therefore, from the depths of Christ’s love, choose to freely forgive my family members and everyone who has offended me or hurt me. I release them into the freedom of my forgiveness.   I also release them from the debts they might owe me. I now cast all my burden onto You.  Your yoke is easy, Your burden is light.

3. Let all our hearts hunger for the Holy Spirit and Your Word

In Jesus’ name, we consecrate our homes to You. Let Your Word be taught and lived out in our homes that our generations may enjoy much spiritual inheritance of godly parents and grandparents (2 Timothy 1:5; Deuteronomy 6:7). Come, Holy Spirit, have Your way in us. We yield to You in every way, that we may know You from the least to the greatest. All our children will be taught by the LORD and great shall be their peace!

4. Let the family altar be full restored in my home

Thank you, Abba Father, You have made us to be kings and priests through our Lord Jesus Christ to serve our God and Father (Revelations 1:6).

We acknowledge that You call us to build the family altar as did the Patriarchs of old (eg Abraham, Noah, Job). You desire this family altar to be a place of covenant and blessing (Genesis 18:19, 24:60).

So, in the name of Jesus, we declare that Father, Your love will draw us to build an altar at home to worship You and Your presence will fill our home. Come, Holy Spirit! Empower our family to engage in worship, prayer and devotion together. We will arise to do so and be blessed by this decision.

As in the days of Joshua, our family will set apart ourselves for You. By Your grace, we will start this journey and together we look forward to the promise in Joshua 3:5, “…tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among us.”

In Jesus’ name, let our family rise to our destiny in Christ. Together we declare, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”  Thank You, Lord, in Christ we receive the full blessing of Abraham, for our whole family! (Galatians 3:14, Isaiah 51:1-3)

In Jesus’ name, I surrender my family and all we have to You.
