PRAYER FOR NATION – MAY 2025
1 – 10 May 2025
PURIFICATION AND CONSECRATION – TURNING FROM PRIDE
Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”
- Pride – Don’t Need God
Lord, Your Word warns us, “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18), while humility brings honor (“A man’s pride brings him low, but a man of lowly spirit gains honor.” Proverbs 29:23). Humility means casting my cares on You, recognizing my limitations, that I am not almighty nor omnipotent and I need Your guidance and help. Help me gain honor before You by not being too proud to ask for help from You or others.
- Pride – Perverse Speech
Father, Your Word says that fearing You is hating evil, and You hate pride, arrogance, evil behavior, and perverse speech (Proverbs 8:13). Help me cultivate a healthy fear of You that destroys pride and arrogance in me. Guard my tongue from arrogant words.
- Pride – Quarrels
Father, Your Word says pride breeds quarrels; wisdom comes from taking advice (Proverbs 13:10). Help me see my pride in quarrels and give me a humble, teachable heart.
- Pride – Violence
Lord, Your Word says the wicked wear pride like a necklace and clothe themselves with violence. (Psalm 73:6) Your Word links pride with violence. Deliver me from these evils. Root out the violence in me so I can repent. Keep me humble, Lord.
- Pride – Impatience
Father, when I am impatient, remind me that “the end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride“ (Ecclesiastes 7:8). Father, Your Word says a day is coming when “the arrogance of man will be brought low and the pride of men humbled; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day” (Isaiah 2:17). Lord, crush the pride and arrogance in me before that day comes!
- Pride – Self Righteousness
Lord, instruct us to heed Your Word, as pride leads to captivity (Jeremiah 49:16). Father, help me see pride’s deception (Jeremiah 49:16). You humble the proud and arrogant (Daniel 4:37). Burn away my self-righteousness. Save me from a religious spirit that is always pointing out what is wrong with others but never sees what is wrong with myself. Help me see and remove my own flaws.
- Pride – Stubbornness
Father, Your Word says You break stubborn pride, making the proud’s sky like iron and ground like bronze (Leviticus 26:19), depicting a hard life where prayers lifted to heaven seem blocked, hitting a ceiling of iron and life is difficult. The proud will face hardship. Lord, help me acknowledge my stubborn pride and repent to be humble.
- Pride – Hardened Heart
Father, Your Word says pride hardens the heart (Daniel 5:20). You desire a tender heart in me (Ephesians 4:32) and my gentleness obvious to everyone (Philippians 4:5). Please melt my heart’s hardness, reveal bitterness for repentance, and fill me with Your love, gentleness, and peace to be Your loving vessel.
- Pride – worldly wisdom
Your Word says, “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom” (Proverbs 11:2). Father, grant me humility and pour Your wisdom on me and keep me from worldly wisdom. Show me when I follow worldly wisdom so I can repent.
Father, Your Word says that You will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their sins. You will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless (Isaiah 13:11). But for those who have been forsaken and hated by the world, Father, You make them the everlasting pride and the joy of all generations (Isaiah 60:15).
Father, Your Word tells us, “In his pride the wicked does not seek You; in all his thoughts there is no room for You” (Psalm 10:4). Please help me to always make room for You in my thoughts, God.
Don’t let pride keep me from seeking You! Do not allow me to continue in pride that stops me from seeking You! Keep me Christ-minded, always casting my cares upon You. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.

PURIFICATION & CONSECRATION – HUMILITY
Micah 6:8 “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
- Father, You guided the Israelites through the desert for forty years to make them humble and to test them, so You could see what was really in their hearts—whether they would follow Your commands or not (Deuteronomy 8:2). Help me understand that sometimes You lead me down certain paths to humble me too and to reveal what’s in my heart. Lord, please purify my heart so that You’ll be pleased with what You find there. Teach me how to walk humbly with You.
- Father, You have promised that if Your people who are called by Your name will humble themselves, pray, seek Your face, and turn from their wicked ways, then You will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14). Please help me understand that corporate revival begins with my personal revival. Help me to humble myself, pray, seek Your face, and acknowledge and turn from my own evil ways. Thank You for hearing me from heaven, forgiving my sins, and healing my heart.
- My Father, I celebrate that You, LORD, delight in Your people; You crown the humble with salvation (Psalm 149:4).
- Lord, Your hand created heaven and earth; they came into being through You. Your Word declares, “This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at My word” (Isaiah 66:2). Pour out mercy and grace that I may become humble and contrite in spirit, and tremble at Your Word. My Savior and Redeemer, help me take Your yoke and learn gentleness and humility from You, finding rest for my soul (Matthew 11:29).
- Father, like Mary, help my soul glorify You and my spirit rejoice in You, my Savior, for You regard the humble (Luke 1:46-48). Instruct me to be completely humble, gentle, patient, bearing with others in love (Ephesians 4:2). Empower me by Your Spirit to obey. Heal my heart, deliver me from evil, that I may obey wholeheartedly. Fill me with the knowledge of Your love, to walk securely, knowing Your constant Presence and the depth of Your love that leads to repentance.
- Father, thank You for abundant grace. You oppose the proud but give grace to the humble (James 4:6). Lord, please grant me the grace to be an overcomer in all areas of my life.
- Father, I desire to humble myself before You, trusting You will lift me up (James 4:10). God, by Your Spirit’s power, help me live in harmony, be sympathetic, love as a family, and be compassionate and humble. (1 Peter 3:8).
- Father, help me be humble with everyone, for You oppose the proud but give grace to the humble (1 Peter 5:5). I always need Your grace, so help me maintain a humble posture that welcomes Your grace.
- Dear Lord, inflame my heart and my inmost being with the fire of Your Holy Spirit, that I may serve You with purity.
- Lord, let my words and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You. Guide my prayers and thoughts by Your Holy Spirit and grant me the grace to hear Your Word. Soften my heart to Your truth, not fleshly desires.
- In Jesus Christ’s Name I pray. Amen.

CONSECRATION & DEDICATION
Exodus 28:3 “Tell all the skilled men to whom I have given wisdom in such matters that they are to make garments for Aaron, for his consecration, so he may serve me as priest.”
Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, do it unto the Lord with all of your heart, knowing that you will get your reward from God and not from man.”
- Lord, you desire each of us to be wholly and fully consecrated to you for Your holy purpose. Show us where we are holding back from You. Reveal where we are not in total submission to Your commands and Your Word. Open our eyes to the places where pride and our will still reign supreme in our hearts so that we can repent and submit to your commands.
- Let us repent of every sin against Your holiness! Humbly bowing before You, we lay ourselves at Your feet, delighting in consecration. Let us be a people who delight in consecrating ourselves to You. Let us give up all that we are, all that we have, and all that we dream of and hope for, and lay our lives on the altar as a daily sacrifice to You. Let us desire what You desire. Let us long for what You long for. Let us love what You love and hate what You hate.
- Make us a holy people. Let us die to our sins and crucify our old sinful nature with Christ on the cross, dying to ourselves. Let us live for You alone. Let us seek Your purposes and Your glory alone. Let us give ourselves wholly to You. Let us be people of fervent, passionate prayer. Let us be people of great faith in You.
- Change our hearts, O God! Cleanse us from our sins and make us holy in Your sight by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Let us be still and allow You to do Your work in us. Let us experience Your victory over sin. Let us walk in the light as You are in the light. Let us have fellowship with You and with each other.
- Let us delight in becoming more like Jesus. Let us delight in suffering, knowing You will use it to make us more holy. Thank You for the trials in life, Your tool to make us more mature and complete and prepared to do Your will. We long for holiness, Your Presence, Your Spirit, Your power, and Your Word. Let us hunger and thirst for Your righteousness.
- We cannot strive and trust in our own strength. We must look to YOU, LORD – YOU who is victorious! Help us TRUST You, keep our hearts right with You, and follow You closer than ever before. Keep us CLOSE to You, LORD, be in Your will, be obedient to You moment by moment! Every moment, keep our HEARTS right with You, Jesus, our MOTIVES right, our WILL right, and EVERYTHING right with You!
- Lord, You command us to love You with ALL of our hearts, minds, souls, and strength. Illumine our hearts with Your Word. Draw us to Yourself. Help us to have BIG faith in You. Help us to know You. This is eternal life, that we might know You and the Father. Speak to our hearts about the areas where You are not Lord in our lives. Let us willingly submit fully to You today. Let Your Word and blazing Light fill all the darkest places of our souls. Remove the gangrene that is destroying us. Let us count ourselves as dead to sin and let us count our old sinful nature as dead to this world. Let us count ourselves alive in You. We have been crucified and buried with You, and we have been raised to new Life in Christ. Let us live in Your power. There is nothing good in us in our own power.
- Open our eyes to the spiritual treasures and truths of Your Word. Open our eyes to our sin. Let us repent of every trace of sin, both individually and corporately. Cleanse us. Send a Great Movement of Your Spirit among us to cause us, in this generation, to rise to become a holy, godly, righteous generation by Your power and for Your glory. Help us to see the lies of the world and the enemy. Let us embrace Your truth. Let us completely submit our lives to You in total obedience and trust. Empower us to be faithful to You and to love You with all our hearts, minds, souls, and strength. And let us love others with the very love of God.
- Let Your power pour through us; let us be totally open to Your Spirit, Your wisdom, and Your work to form Christ in us. Let us learn to let You live through us. Enable us to rest in the finished work of Christ and stop trying so hard in our own strength. Let us admit, “I cannot do this on my own! I need You! You have done it all! I can do nothing on my own to please You!” Let us then learn to walk humbly in the Spirit and set our minds on Life and Peace.
- Let us desire what You desire. Let us love what You love. Let us hate what You hate. Let us live in victory over sin because You are living in us and You have conquered sin and death. Ignite a fire within us with a deep longing for You.
- Let us consecrate ourselves for Your use. Let us set ourselves apart to be used however You desire. Let us crucify our will and seek Yours, joyfully proclaiming, “I want nothing for myself, everything for Christ and His kingdom.”
- In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
