PRAYER FOR THE NATION: JANUARY 2023

Theme for 2023:  “COME UP HIGHER”

“COME UP HIGHER’ is God’s invitation to all of us in Malaysia as we enter 2023.

Why must we go higher in 2023?

  • The Powers of Darkness is intensifying and we need to operate on a higher plane.
  • The Power of God is being released and we do not want to be left behind.
  • The Season for Spiritual Transaction is NOW.

The time is urgent, THE TIME TO TRIGGER AN OUTPOURING OF GOD’S POWER IS NOW!

[READ REVELATION 4 and 5]

COME UP HIGHER

  1. To see the Glory of our God
  • Revelation 4:1

Then as I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.”

2 And instantly I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne in heaven and SOMEONE sitting on it. 3 The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow. 4 Twenty-four thrones surrounded him, and twenty-four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads. 5 From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And in front of the throne were seven torches with burning flames. This is the sevenfold Spirit of God.

  1. To see that we are a Kingdom of Priests, not volunteers, that reign on the earth!
  • Revelation 5:9-10

And they sang a new song with these words:

“You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it.

For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God

from every tribe and language and people and nation.

10 And you have caused them to become a Kingdom of priests for our God.

And they will reign on the earth.”

PRAYER & DECLARATION

Lord, we come before you today to ask that in 2023, we will:

  1. Focus on the Glory of God and the Lamb on the Throne (Rev 4 and 5), not on problems, people or politics.

We want a breakthrough Vision of God that will totally remove the thoughts of a weak and indulgent God from our churches.

We ask for your glory to so impact us that:

  • We will serve You with reverence and awe. May the fear and reverence of God fill our churches, and we refuse to allow the voices of the world, discouragements, intimidations, and temptations to cause us to lose our focus.
  • We want You to become our Lord and Master, not just our Savior, to whom we must give an account of our lives. We want to break the mindset of serving You on our terms.
  • 2023 will be a year where we will experience personal revival, and the manifest glory of our Lord will come to our families, workplace, churches and our nation.

  1. Commit ourselves to a Lifestyle of Word, Prayer and Fasting.
  • We will make seeking YOU as a priority in our daily lives as we read the word, and interact with You in prayer. (Matthew 6:33)
  • We are determined, O Lord, in 2023 to grow in the depth of our prayer and the word so that our altars will carry spiritual authority and capacity to overcome the power of the enemy. We are determined that we will commit to the seasons of fasting in our church and in our nation.

[MUFW has set every Friday for all of us to fast together.

Why Friday? It is the day when our friends go and worship, and the churches prepare to gather at the weekends.

We have also called for 7 days of Prayer & Fasting from April 2nd – April 8th during Passion Week].

  • We will take up regular positions of prayer on the Prayer Watches assigned to us, whether in our church, prayer networks or on MUFW.
  • We are desperate for a breakthrough anointing that will unleash an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our nation through US (not someone else).

  1. Commit ourselves to serve Him as priests of the Lord.

Lord, we declare we are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, so that we may declare the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His wonderful light.  Once we were not a people, but now we are the people of God; once we had not received mercy, but now we have received mercy. (1 Peter 2:9-10)

We declare that Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father—to Him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. (Revelation 1: 5-6)

We declare we are not volunteers but a Holy Priesthood called to:

  • consecrate ourselves to come before You and to minister to You in the Holy Sanctuary of the altars – in personal, family, congregational and national altars. (Exodus 29)
  • carry ourselves with dignity and honor as we know we reflect the glory of God. (Exodus 28:2)
  • pronounce blessing on Your people so that whoever we bless will be blessed. May therefore our mouths never cease to bless You and those You ask us to bless.
  • be in a Covenant of Life and Peace. We therefore stand in reverence and in awe of Your name. May true instruction always be on our mouths and nothing false be found on our lips. May we walk with You in peace and uprightness, and turn many from sin as people come to seek instruction from us. (Malachi 2:5-7)

DECLARATION:

We declare that the altar we come to each day is no ordinary altar. It is the altar of the Risen Lord, the Lamb who was slain, the First and the Last, the Living One who was dead, and now lives for ever and ever! He alone holds the keys of death and Hades. (Rev 1:18)

On this altar, we declare

‘Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!  Let every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, say:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb

be praise and honor and glory and power,

for ever and ever!” Amen!’

Revelation 5: 12-14
