Critical Prayer for Nation – Prayer for the Church in Malaysia for 2022

In Jan 2022, we have declared that the Church of God in Malaysia is rising up to fulfil her God given destiny. We have also felt and declared this is truly the set time for Malaysia:

  • the time for God’s mercy, favour and blessings (Ps 102:13)
  • a reset time for Malaysia
  • a time of correct alignment to our Father and to one another

Scripture Reading Ps 110

The Lord says to my Lord:

“Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies

a footstool for your feet.”

2 The Lord will extend your mighty sceptre from Zion, saying,

“Rule in the midst of your enemies!”

3 Your troops will be willing on your day of battle.

Arrayed in holy splendour, your young men will come to you

like dew from the morning’s womb.

4 The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind:

“You are a priest forever,

in the order of Melchizedek.”

5 The Lord is at your right hand;

he will crush kings on the day of his wrath.

6 He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead

and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.

7 He will drink from a brook along the way, and so he will lift his head high.

February is the second month of 2022. We all do not know what 2022 holds but we do sense it is not the time to relax but rather a time of great preparation. Thus, we sense we should reflect on Psalm 110 as we feel this is what God is doing in this season. In such a time, God is looking for willing servants and soldiers who will prepare themselves for His day of battle.

There are 3 things we feel led to ask God to give His church in Malaysia –

  • the Spirit of Readiness
  • the Spirit of Resilience
  • the Spirit of Reliance to prepare us for 2022

Let us then, pray not just for ourselves, but for

  • all of us who are standing in the gap on the firewall to pray for our land.
  • the Pastors and Gatekeepers of the land.
  • the Watchmen, Prophetic Intercessors and Worship Warriors.
  • the Fathers and Spiritual Leaders of our land.
  • all whom God has placed in positions of authority, especially in the marketplace, to stand against all injustice and evil.

PRAYERS

  • The SPIRIT OF READINESS for such a time as this.
  • We pray for the spirit of readiness to obey every prompting of Your Spirit. We pray against hardness of our hearts and that we will not be deceived into slipping back into our old ways of living to satisfy our own desires and so miss God’s timing (1 Peter 1:13).
  • Lord, we pray for spiritual alertness so that we have keenness of understanding (1 Peter 4:7). We pray that this spirit of wisdom and understanding will cause us all to break away from our spiritual blindness that has hindered the work of God in our time.
  • Lord, we pray for great spiritual alertness and readiness in the hearts of the spiritual fathers and leaders in our land, so that they can call the ekklesia in every state in Malaysia into action. We pray then that all will come into alignment so that we can flow into our giftings and callings for such a time as this.
  • Lord, we pray for a spirit of readiness to give an answer to everyone who asks us for the reason for the hope that we have. Help us to do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against our good behaviour in Christ may be ashamed of their slander (1 Peter 3:15-16).

  • The SPIRIT OF RESILIENCE to last the long haul.

(Pray by name- especially for those whom God has called into different spheres of work and influence, and – those in difficult circumstances.)

  • Resilience for those who stand against injustice.

Lord, we praise You that You have raised up many in our nation who will carry out Your will and kingdom agenda.   Strengthen the hands, O Lord, of the men and women who are standing against injustice so that they will have the resilience to meet challenges and to stand firm in their -conviction in the midst of opposition.

  • Resilience for the church to keep on doing good.

Lord, we praise You for raising up the church in our land to stand on behalf of the poor and needy. May we all never tire and grow weary in doing good, so that at the proper time we will reap a harvest (Galatians 6:9).

  • Resilience for those in prayer.

Lord, we know You have placed us here on the firewall as Your watchmen who will be resilient to pray both by day and night until we see Your work completed in Malaysia (Isaiah 62:6-7). May we never grow weary of praying and lifting holy hands in prayer as You lead us.

  • The SPIRIT OF RELIANCE on God alone.
  • Lord, we pray and rely on the leading, wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit. May we be careful to hear His voice and not go ahead without You; for apart from You we can do nothing.
  • Lord, we pray for complete reliance on the power and finished work of the Cross so that we glory only in the power of the Cross to bring healing, reconciliation, restoration and salvation in our land.
  • Lord, we rely on the love You have for us (1 John 4:16). We know that every work of Yours is done out of love. May we never give up believing that all your plans for us are for good and not for evil, to give us a hope and a future. May we continue to be steadfast and unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord even as we see the day of the Lord approaching.

In Jesus’ Mighty Name we pray, amen.
